Hi , back again for another question :) Since i got dev-cpp DX9 pak and Directsraw 7 sdk doc's , i only really need 1 thing anymore , the win 32 help file :) I already found one , but it contains no contents listing :s it's from an old borland compiler . Is there a better version , with working contents ? please don't point me to msdn , it is a real puzzle to find something there :)

AFAIK, there is some Windows API documentation included with VC++. Whether it's a full help file, I have no idea, but it's certainly the best one I currently have, barring MSDN (which takes an age and a half to load for me, for some reason :/ )

I could probably email you the file, as long as it's not breaking any rules (someone knows whether this would be illegal?)

Search from Micrisoft site Platform SDK (same with google). Also dev-cpp upgrade has one. Those are tecnical files so try to find also one good tutorial for Platform SDK.

Hehe , yes i did :)

There IS a windows help file containing the whole win 32 api reference/docs !
Since i have it ! But somehow it does not display the contents :(

So i am looking for that file , but with contents :)

It is dated september 2 , 1999 , but the person who wrote
a description at the download location wrote that the win32api
fundamentals are still current for most basic use .

Thanks for all suggestions and the msdn direct link to windows api anyway , since it will be usefull later on i presume :)

Using Dev C++ :

- Go "Tools >> Check for Updates/Packages"

- Using PlanetMirror.com (default), click "Check for Updates"

- After you get a list, look for "Win32 API Reference DevPak"

- Select it, and click download selected. It should install after downloading.

- It should be located in "Dev-Cpp\docs\Win32API" as Win32API.hlp

Hope this helps. =)

EDIT: If I just gave you what you just said before me, and the file doesn't work... you could try going to package manager, uninstalling the win32api, and redownloading it.

Oops, I'm extremely sorry for pointing to msdn, I guess I forgot what he said while replying to the message or didn't read it well.
My apologies.

If you use the "Check For Updates" feature in the tools menu of Dev-C++ you should see the help file seek is one of the downloads avaliable. I know it's their I just recently downloaded again.
