Greetings! I was wondering if anyone has allready done that. I would like, that when i start/logon to windows my "helloworld.exe" starts instead of explorer. No start menu no nothing. When you close the hello world application the windows shutsdown/log-off like it should when you close the explorer? So there is no start menu and no Instance of Explorer.exe running. Any ideas?

You need to change the registry key that dictates the shell to boot into - it's found under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\Shell

As for shutting down on exit, you need to call the appropriate system function to make this work - what you're after is ExitWindowsEx.

Whatever you do, make sure you have a way of booting into the regular shell when the novelty of using 'helloworld.exe' wears off, otherwise you'll be stuck with a crapped out system.
