I used BitBlt by making a wrapper class by following the examples on codeproject.com. However, I realized when I load an image from a file, get a graphics from it and Blt it, it only shows a black box. I soon realized that it can only BitBlt pictures that are visible and I dont have enough room on my form to show on the pictureboxes. Is there a special bitblt way? Is there any other draw functions that can draw from a filepath? I know DX9 for C++, but I dont even know how to start a DX7 for VB.NET. Or do I just have to convert the whole thing to C++.

Use CreateBitmap to create a memory based bitmap and duplicate the picture there. You should be able to bypass a lot of VB, and use the GDI using Win32 API calls to do what you want. I know that your problem can be worked around!
