ARB_fragment_program_shadow problem...

I wondered if anyone reached to implement shadow map depth test in a fragment program. I've followed the ARB extension as explained there: http://oss.sgi.com/projects/ogl-sample/registry/ARB/fragment_program_shadow.txt but in my great surprise, failed to work. Are there some more subtles technics to follow? Thanks before hand.
