Quote:Things obviously work differently over here in the United States than they might in New Zealand, even more so in California.
You never throw out a customer. You throw out destructive children and punks. You never toss the customer. Ever.
If he loses his job it is his fault. Why did he throw out a customer? He made the business lose potential buying power.
Well, in his mind he may have been throwing out a punk. He may not have known anything about that computer and thought POne was trying to wreck it in some way. From his point of view it made perfect sense to throw someone out who was clearly doing something you shouldn't do in that store.
I'm confident the management of that company will agree with him : his first duty was to make sure the kiosk could serve other customers, who would use it for its intended purpose, not to help someone hacking the machine he knows nothing about in the first place (i'm not saying POne would have done something wrong, i'm saying the store manager may have assumed he would do something wrong - and that's very understandable from his part).
You have to look at this from the sales persons point of view as well and for him the situation was very clear : someone was doing something he wasn't supposed to do in stead of asking the sales manager to help him. Whatever he did may have wrecked the machine. And he refused to leave it alone. Therefor it's not illogical for him to ask POne to leave.
Whatever, just don't go shopping there ever again. Maybe the guy works on commision and now he won't be able to buy that extra six pack of beers. Serves him right for not understanding computers [smile]
