say I want to replace the explicit array access array[index] to a GET function: Get(index) {return array[index];} there're many places in my source file that need to be replaced, using visual studio's replace function, how can I specify the string sought for? I only want to change the array[ to Get( and the ] to ) while the index in the middle intact. is there a way to do this?

Try this, with the user regular expression checked.

Find what: array\[{.*}\]
Replace with: Get(\1)
