manange vs unmanaged directx

i have searched the net and still want to know how do you set up directx in visual c++.net 2003. what is the difference between unmanaged and managed directx

Read the documentation that come's with the DX SDK, it'll explain you quite well how to create some basic DX applications.

I think the difference between managed and unmanaged DX resides mostly on the interface. For example, you need to define your own vertex types in unmanaged while in managed you can do CustomVertex.(VertexType) wich is convenient.

There is a very small amount of samples and tutorials through out the net that use
managed directx with c++. If your going to use managed directx i recommend you use c#
