Now I feel like a real newbie, I just installed Visual C++ 2005 Express Beta but I can't compile because I can't locate windows.h. Where is it?? I tried to create a new project, a default windows program, but that wouldn't compile either. Is there something more I need to install? Using WinXP SP2

win32 is pretty much a dead dodo, to build win32 apps with VC++ 8.0 you need to obtain a copy of MS Platform SDK and change a thew settings, refer to this for more detailed info.

i wouldn't exactly put it this way .. win32 is not the preferred target platform for vs8 express products. vs8 is still the way to go for building win32 platform apps (among a couple of other products).
