Multithreading articles/books?

I recently decided that my next project could really benefit from multithreading, so sat down and started writing. I've now looked through what I've done and thought a little more, and realised that I probably have several race conditions and other problems. I really need a decent article (or book) on the subject to help me figure out how to solve my problems. Can anyone recommend any?

If you have the money, there is one that I think should be pretty good. I hav yet to read it all, but it's on my ToDo list. Multi-Threaded Programming in C++. However, you should be able to find something much cheaper and more sufficient on the web I think. Here's a google directory of thread programming info. Here is the official MSDN reference as well. As for your race problems, if I interpreted it right, you will need to look into thread syncing and mutex's to allow threads to work in the desired order. Finally one last link neat link. Hope this helps some.
