Well my university gave me some space on there solaris based server. Basically I have one user account on the system(for using to work or host a site).
Now it allows for php but doesnt have mysql installed. I obviously dont have access to whatever is hosting all the sites in there server(Apachee or whatever) so is there another way have mysql for my account? Some way to install it?

Hi, You may find you are able to install MySQL in your home directory, though I don't know for sure and don't know if your allowed to be running extra processes on thier system... But I've heard somewhere that PHP can make use of SQLite, which is an embedded database. www.sqlite.org
You then don't need a database server running. Try googling for PHP and SQLite.
