When i said "i'm going into game dev field once im done" i ment i want to learn game programming , not be a games programmer. I want to learn game programming only to make the side scrolling 2D game i've always dreamed of.

Yes that site is a great source for SDL. It helped me alot when I attempted at making pong.*Sence has given up because of his inablility to fix his broken 2d collision detection.* It was very clear and gave some incite in game making in general.

One of the best resources I've seen for 2d sidescrolling collision and 2DSidescrollers in general was JNRDEV's tutorials on the subject. Just do like a google on jnrdev, I dont know the url exactly. This is a great resource that you will find helpful in the coming months (or whenever you finish learning c++ basics);
