progressive meshes

hello, i''m trying some algos on VIPM, and i''m not sure about this: is there any way in OpenGL to upload vertex data to card memory once and render mesh using different faces (i.e. using some or all of uploaded vertices)?

with the geforce+ there are extensions to store data in the cards memory, unfortunately i dont have one meself so i can say how good it works.
otherwise you''re stuck with using vertex arrays
