Anyone has any idea of when will ATI drivers support new extensions such as ARB_pixel_buffer_object and EXT_framebuffer_object? As of Catalyst 5.2 they are not supported, and as far as I know, latest nVidia drivers already support EXT_framebuffer_object. Thank!

I'd email the ATI developer support guys and ask them. They're very helpfull and friendly and would probably have a better idea as to their extension support schedule.

I'm switching over to OpenGL for a while after many years of D3D programming, and I thought I had read somewhere that while NVidia has been propelling forward in up-to-date support for new OpenGL extensions, ATI lags behind as they're tending to focus more effort on Direct3D support.

For any "hardcore" OGL guys, is this still the case?

When General Patton died after World War 2 he went to the gates of Heaven to talk to St. Peter. The first thing he asked is if there were any Marines in heaven. St. Peter told him no, Marines are too rowdy for heaven. He then asked why Patton wanted to know. Patton told him he was sick of the Marines overshadowing the Army because they did more with less and were all hard-core sons of bitches. St. Peter reassured him there were no Marines so Patton went into Heaven. As he was checking out his new home he rounded a corner and saw someone in Marine Dress Blues. He ran back to St. Peter and yelled "You lied to me! There are Marines in heaven!" St. Peter said "Who him? That's just God. He wishes he were a Marine."
