does anyone know if its possible to make an application disable itself given a certain amount of time has passed. I thought that I could use the date, but then whats stopping a user changing the date back to use the application again, If you can point in the direction of where i can get help let me know?

A soloution would be to log the last time the program was used and then check when it's started up whether the current time is before the last run time.

Edit: But in general 30 day-trial schemes get cracked without any real effort, so I'd say you'd be better of releasing the "trial" program with some features missing.

Record that last run time, and if it's in the future, then assume their time has expired. There isn't a 100% foolproof way to do these things, but that would stop most people I think.

You could set up a simple php website so that if the user runs your program whilst connected, it can request a date from the server.

Just a thought.

Or you could DL the page from www.timeanddate.com
