I've recently decided to start learning DirectX with C#. I installed DirectX 9 SDK and now I want to start on a small project. At the top of my project I have: using Microsoft.DirectX; using Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D; etc. but I get an error saying that the namespace doesn't exist. I'm assuming that I have to add a reference to it but when I got to Add Reference, I don't see DirectX 9 in the list. Can anyone help me get this setup properly? Any help would be appreciated.

If you have the DirectX SDK installed, you should see "Microsoft.DirectX.*" in the "Add References" menu.

go here for a tutorial on how to set up a device.

hi there errornix,
The best way to start learning directX is looking at a good tutorial. But for managed DirectX look at the installed documentation that came with DirectX9 SDK. It's probably the best way to pick it up quickly. If you have any specific questions. Please feel free to ask.
