Ok lets stay i have a WIN32 Application that is runing at 800 X 600 Windowed Res. Now is there a way that I can tell DirectX to go into fullscreen and Directx Automatically send the WIN32 Application in To full screen or do i have to put the WIN32 into fullscreen manually and then tell directX is it a fullscreen application?

When creating the DX device, if you select windowed = false in the PresentParameters, DX goes into full screen. If it's true, it does not.

To switch between them you need to release your current device and make a new one with different present parameters. (note, that releasing the device makes all data the was in vid memory (VBs, IBs, and the likes) to be released as well).
