detecting the any key in direct input

Have you got some DInput code already written/working?

If so, depending on your coding, if you were to poll the keyboard state and ANYTHING was non-zero (iirc) something has been pressed. Alternatively, if you use buffered input, the fact that a buffer has any events in it is an indication that some button has been pressed (or released).

I don't have any specifics to hand, but if you have some of your own code already it shouldn't be too hard [smile].
