Hi, Is there a tutorial that explains how Quake 3 BSP maps are loaded anywhere? I'm not very good with file format specs so a guide would be better. Any useful links greatly appreciated! :) Thanks, - aCiD2

I doubt many people would pay $15 for the three Quake3 bsp tutorials, I think someone posted a tutorial on the Announcements page about a Q3 renderer a while back though I may be mistaken. You could always try this one which uses OpenGL instead.
Hi,

additionally i could recommend the following sites, when it comes to Q3 based
BSP rendering: obviously, you will encounter the shaders of Q3; the following
two links will give you a good introduction into the Q3 shader system; for
rendering all the Q3 media in an authentic look, it's required to render the
geometry with all it's shaders...

take a look at it for yourself:

regarding the 15USD at gametutorials.com:
i'm not quite sure if DigiBen (owner of gametutorials.com) is correct with
his pricing, but in my opinion, i wouldn't pay this price for that informtion
handed out there - this money should be invested rather into a book than into
a site like this one...

Alex BakerComputer science is dealing with computers as much as astronomy is dealing with telescopes.
The source code available at www.auscoders.com does contain a bsp loader and dx renderer.
Many thanks to all of you, all those links were great! Thanks!
