Does anyone know of a program that you can use to create textures containing only Alpha values (no rgb components)? Can you do this in Paint Shop Pro, and if so, how? Please give me some advice if you have done this before. Paulcoz.

All that''s stored in the alpha information in a 32bit bmp is an 8bit grey scale image. So if you make an 8bit bitmap and load it you can use it as an alpha image.

Thanks evaclear, I'll try using an 8-bit grey-scale image.

Paulcoz.

I guess a 16-bit bmp uses a 4-bit grey-scale then?
