Loading a Model

Direct3D Retained Mode uses files called X files. These files can be made by creating a model in 3d Studio Max or a similar program, saving it as a .3ds file, and then using the conv3ds.exe utility (it is in the DirectX sdk directory). To find out the options, just change to the directory and run type conv3ds. Then put in all the options you need to change it to an X file. Then use Direct3D X file viewer (one of the samples) to see how it came out.
