Rendering Models

I was wondering how people are rendering their models? IE - using a BSP, or z-buffering, or whatever technique you us. I have seen a few people say they use BSP''s but that seems like it would create a lot of nodes if your model has upwwards of 1,000 polygons. Any suggestions?
