Can CG be done in Managed DirectX or do I have to wrap it first? It shouldn't be at all hard to wrap seeing as it's a C interface - right?

I know this is skirting the issue, but why don't you just use HLSL? The two languages are practically identical, except that with HLSL, you have the full support of D3DX.

Here is a wrapper for Cg in C#, but it uses OpenGL (I couldn't find a DX one). However, it should serve as a good starting base for you, if you decide to persue that route.

I woudl like to take advantage of interfaces which (I believe) HLSL doesn't support. This is so I can play around and create material trees and stuff :)
