The ATI 9600SE (e.g. from Sapphire) comes at a similar price-tag and is 87% GL2.0-compliant (only non-power-of-two texture extension is missing).

You might want to update your drivers and/or copy of the OGL extension viewer, as the the latest drivers are OGL2.0 complient, althought they dont expose the non-power-of-two extension (the hardware has some issues with it regarding mipmaping and texture repeating, which means while you can use the extensions it has its limits so isnt exposed in an extension string)

but yes, I second the 9600SE, it wont be the fastest card going but it'll be enuff for you to try and track down why your engine is exploding [wink]

i dont see it here
http://www.dragonpc.co.nz/m.aspx?m=Hardware (best selection the south island)
what about these?
http://www.dragonpc.co.nz/c.aspx?c=Hardware&s=Video+card+(agp)+%2f+tv+card+%2f+cooler&ss=ATI+9500+Series&ssid=

ps im not gonna use the card myself (ill stick it in me girlfirends computer) thus cost has to be less than $150 max, and performance is of zero concern. i just waana test code and if it runs on a 9500/9600 be pretty certain itll run on a 9800 etc
