Texture Shaders

Are texture shaders (tx_1_0) executed on the GPU or the CPU ? Couldn´t find anything about it in any documentation.

CPU, unfortunately.

For future reference, it's a good bet that if a D3DX function doesn't take a device pointer it cannot access the graphics card to make use of it.
