where can i find source codes

Unless the game is shipped with the source code or is givin by the dev team/publisher then you aren't going to get it legally. The only commercial game I know of where the source was released is Jagged Alliance 2.

Here is the Doom 3 SDK. It supposedly includes almost half the game's code. Is this what you're looking for?

also, i remember i found a website some time back that had source codes of some recent games on it. if someone knows this website or something similar that would help very much.

I think there is also a listing here at GameDev in the Articles/General Programming or Articles/Game Programming sections for the source codes of several games. Beware, not all of this code is the most beautiful code ever written. ^^

From what I've seen, Doom 3's code seems to be extremely well written. However, this unfortunately can't be said for all of id's masterpieces. [sad]
