Easy Question about Scaling

I have a big .bmp filled with tiles..and I'm trying to render them to the screen, but when I do the D3DXCreateTexture and render it, the picture is like scrunched..and i'm not sure how to fix it...I thought I had this problem before and thought it was because the picture isn't in powers of 2..so I made my tiles 256x4096 (closest powers of two)..my scaling is set to 1..i'm not sure why it's shrinking like that...does anyone else know? thanks

Have u tried D3DXCreateTextureFromFileEx?

Also, your file size seems too big. My card only supports 2048x2048, and when i try to create a texture that big, it gives me all sorts of problems. Try to split your tiles to several files?
