GBA dev question: using new & delete

Presently, my programs won't compile with new & delete. I'm told that I need newlib to use the new & delete operators in GBA programming. But how am I supposed to use newlib? I extracted it where I'm supposed to extract it, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I am using devkit advance. I downloaded all the stuff I needed from this site: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=67315 Under "Release 4" are the files that I downloaded. Can someone give me some help? Thank you in advance ;D

I've never used newlib, but I would try to avoid or use as little as possible dynamic memory allocation on the GBA as possible.
