The game did not start, on executing the exe file, a window appeared with '*.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.' I am running XP on a laptop with a mobile AMD 1 Ghz. And a 16 Mb graphic card 'Twister' by S3. I have installed DirectX 8

Same thing here, nada. Log says it can't initiate the Direct3D Device. I tried running in full screen, window, 640x480, 800x600, same thing. The game looks awesome but you may want to bring the requirements WAY down. I see you're using 512x512 textures, this could bring your compatibility down as well. Good luck, can't wait to run it!

Cool game man! It runs and looks great!

My only problem was in the second level, I got totally swarmed. The entire screen filled with ships and rocks. Was that intended?

Also, I'm assuming it's an upgrade, but the game would be more exciting from the beginning with a faster firing rate.

Otherwise, great job!

It seems you have completely missed weapon upgrade. Have you read the hints that popped up?

That was my fault!
I shouldn't allow select any ship upgrades, unless player already have new weapon selected. Sorry, my bad :)
Will fix it ASAP

I've changed some code and uploaded new version. Hopefully this would allow people who had crashes to play the game. I've also changed power-up thing that confused everybody, now it is more clear

How about just an .exe update for us dial up users? 5meg is VERY long to download. I have to admit, this game should do well for you. The graphics are top notch, the play is fun, etc. Now for the bad news, it doesn't run on any of the new Wallmart computers from Compaq or HP with the onboard graphics cards from intel. Create a link just for the .exe update and I'll try it again.

Sorry, it's not just .exe update, I have updated some other files as well and can hardly remember which ones.

BTW, I am on dial-up too :(

Thanks for the info, I have no idea that it works on such old computers. Have you tried to lower the detail level to minimum in options and setting 640x480 resolution?

wow...this thread is definetly worth necro-ing.

I just played through the entire demo and that has to be one of the coolest shooters I've ever played! I see you have a thing for lots of explosions...and I thought the explosions in my game were crazy, they don't even compare!

I'd love the full version but $20 is pretty steep for a 2D shooter, considering when Serious Sam I and II came out, they were both $20 each. Can I get a coupon maybe? ;)

BTW, ran great even on my crappy work computer which can barely run even most simple games. After looking at your screenshots I thought "no way this will run" but it ran remarkably well. Can't wait to try the demo on my own comp!

Wow, those screenshots look great. I'll try the game tonight.

One question. That aura/halo effect around the ships and planets is awsome. How is it achieved?

Keep up the great work!
