lgpl question

i read the information on the lgpl license but had a few questions about it if i use a libary under the lgpl do i have to provide the source of the libray or of the whole application?

General consesus is the source of the library. You also need to make sure you link dynamically. You do not need to release your work, unless it is the library modified. And note that you can provide not distribute the source of the library. So you could mirror it on a web page or something.

I believe you can also link statically with the library, if you provide .o/.obj files that let someone modify the library, re-compile the library, and then statically link to re-produce your binary. However, I'm not a lawyer, so if you want to know what courts in your jurisdiction may say about a specific license, I suggest you go talk to a local licensed legal professional.
