I'm trying to use a game engine that uses directx. For some reason when I run anything using that engine I get the error: "Can't lock D3D index buffer". Has anyone seen this error before? Does anyone know anything I can do to fix it. I'm using Dx9.0c and have a GeForce4 420go.

Unofficial HGE?
Yeah, how did you know?
I saw your posts there.

I have a feeling that he's making some assumptions about the video capabilties that aren't valid for your card. Or assuming that if it works on his card, then it will work on any card. It may be that his drivers allow certain operations that aren't sanctioned by the DirectX driver specs.

I took a look at his engine, decided I didn't need any of the extra bells and whistles, and stayed with Official HGE. The only thing I miss is the new font format, but Haaf is working on getting that into the official engine as we speak.
The I reason I wanted the unofficial version was for the font format too. But, if Haaf is adding it in, I'll just wait for it. Thanks.
No problem. Sorry I couldn't help.
