So this is your own game? From the sounds of it, I assume you are taking the screenshots manually (via the Print Screen key)? If so, have you considered the possible alternative of having the game itself export a graphic when you press a certain key? If you use this method, you could have the game export images at a regular interval rather than on keypress, and use those to create your animated gif.
