Using Maya 6.5 and April SDK. I try to load the DX exporter that comes with the SDK utilities. When Maya starts up I get an error saying that the plugin hasn't loaded properly.

Is this with a stock install? (i.e. you haven't tried to copy the plugin files elsewhere, etc...)

I tried letting the SDK install the plugins for me like it did with the feb SDK. After that didn't work, I copied the plugin into the maya plugins folder. At that point, I had the option to save as .x file but my directx hypershade option was not there... Restarting maya gives me loading errors for the plugin.

What are the errors you get in the case where the SDK installs the plugins? Note that you should not have any dxsdk related files in your maya application directory after the sdk installs.

Also, what is the contents of the file %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Alias Shared\Modules\Maya\6.5\Microsoft DirectX 9.0 SDK.txt ?
