Visual Studio templates(not normal C++)
Hi, earlier this week I installed Linux to check if my code could compile on Linux. I tried KDevelop, which were a part of Linux Fedora, it was pretty nice, but didn't beat MS Visual Studio (in my opinion), but there was one feature I thought was really cool. That was the possibility to create a template for header and/or source files so you could make a template for a source file to include the precompiled header file and use some namespaces or something. Then when I created a source file it might look like this:
I tried to search, but I couldn't find a similar feature in MS Visual Studio 2003 .NET, so is it possible to create a template-file in Visual Studio? And if it's, how?
BTW sorry if this is in the wrong forum, couldn't really find one which fits this question.
Not that I know of, but what I usually do is just create a template.h and template.cpp and add them to a Template folder and exclude them from the build (or perhaps add them to the general solution files if you want). Then each time I create a new header or source file I just do a copy & paste. Not automagic, but not all that much of a hassle either.
Thanks for the answer.
I found this add-in for Visual Studio .Net:
http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/codetemplatenet.asp
Which seems to solve the problem.

Visual assist gives you some auto-text and templates. It's not it's main feature, and is due for an update in their next version, but it's a great overall package well worth a look.
