OpenGL kDev - setup for openGL and GLUT

Allo, I'd switch to programming openGL with GLUT but with kDev in redhat Linux. please advise steps on howto properly setup the kDev environment so that the linker is able to find the GL and GLUT lib. thanks.

When you have installed the devel RPM's of both SDL, GL and eventually GLU you should go to the project properties dialog. In there select the Configure configuration icon and in the dialog select the C++ tab. Then in the CXXFLAGS field add the following: -lSDL -lGL -lGLU -L/usr/X11R6/lib

The last part is only neccessary if you have one of the required libraries in another directory. Then re-run the automake / configure programs and compile your program. It should work then.
