Hi, I read the extract about Per-Pixel Displacementmapping with Distance Functions of the GPu Gems2 book that was posted on this homepage and i understand now how everything works but i don't know how to create the distancemap.. as far as i understood it right you need to create a 3dmap(of what dimensions?) every frame(?), but how? With a texture shader on the cpu? can somebody explain that? btw what language are the shaders in this extract written in? cg?
