Blitz Backdrop is a system designed for developing games that use 3D models with 2D pre-rendered background images such as Resident Evil 1,2,3, Nocturne, Final Fantasy 7,8, Grim Fandango etc using the Blitz3D programming language from Mark Sibly. The system takes care of various things automatically such as backdrop management, camera / backdrop switching, lights, progressing through the world (switching scene's easily or scene management) etc. Blitz-Backdrop requires the use of 3DSMax, for placing markers in your scenes, rendering camera images, placing camera's, lights and exporting your scene's to the .b3d file format. Blitz-Backdrop comes with full source code, example scenes and tutorials. Ordering the system is available now.. We are also developing a full survival horror game using Blitz-Backdrop. Full descriptions, screen-shots, forums as well as a demo of the engine/system can be found here: http://www.gamelab3d.com We are also working on a c++ version of Blitz-Backdrop. If you can find the time to give the demo a whirl and post your feeback, please do so Thanks for your time, The GameLab3D team

IMHO it's ok, but (as you probably know) there are some obvious problems with animation of main guy, not-interactive mirrors (no reflections) and user interface useability (it's not very intuitive in this version).
