Fraps not working?

I use FRAPS usually on my programs, but since I've upgraded my engine to d3d9 (it was previously built on d3d8) it no more works and doesn't show the FPS on the game screen, what's the reason, I've seen the similar behavior on some other application and games too. Wheter DirectX 9 stops it from working correctly? what do you suggest for using instead of it?

Well what version of Fraps? Since you bought it, you should be able to download the latest version from their site and use that. Have you done that yet? I mean it works fine for me so far(but then again I don't know half the time what rendering context I'm using [lol]). For the FPS showing make sure you have it configured in the FPS tab to not be 'disabled' and make sure you have it toggled using F12. Other than that, not sure what the problem is. I think it's the best there is, you can try something like SnagIt but I don't know if that works with OGL/DX.
