A this point in time i have been muddling around the Web and the Lua API trying to find out where the c/c++ functions exposed to lua are hiding. Does any one have any idea of how i can dump all of the global functions to a text file?

The registered C/++ functions are simple global variables in Lua, like normal functions.
So (assuming you have the table library loaded) you can write:

table.foreach(_G, function(k, v) if (type(v)=="function") then print(k) end end)

to write out all global functions.
