oke, so (i understand why i could not find something in google about making that with ogl) i will use some 3rd party tools for that for now, like ATI Tray tools..
anyway, in summer, i will give a try to learn directx. i find that it is a must for me. =.=

opengl seriously lacks this feature, but you can implement it yourself by
creating a bunch of textures and check them with glaretexturesresident then
check out how much data is in the card.. this is not very reliable..

its impossible to tell
btw is this texture memory on the card or AGP? what about VBO, display list, antialiasing, screensize etc etc
