I am using MinGWStudio and I keep getting "undefined reference" errors. What does this error mean exactly, generally speaking? I would like to be able to track this error down. Thanks for any help

This error generally means that you have a reference to a function somewhere in your code that the linker cannot resolve.

Either you have not told the linker where to look for the function, with a -l (lowercase L) libname.

It means that somewhere, you have declared (told the compiler it exists) and used a function , variable, class... but never actually defined it (i.e provided the code for it).
