combine NormalMaps

Hi, can I combine two normal maps (in GLSL)? I've one big worldspace normal map and want to add to this normal map a tangent space normal map with tileable fine structure? thanks

Absolutely. You can alpha blend them together, then normalize if you wish.

The fastest way would be to blend them before you unpack the values to [-1..1], and then unpack, then normalize.

thats not gonna give the right results, each normal needs to be orientated to the underlying normal (diffucult)
the easiest way is to deal with heightmaps add them together and then create a new normal for the final heights
