DX skinned mesh + Effects file(.fx)

can someone point me in the right direction on this; Ive read somewhere on the net about integrating my Mesh file with an effects file during export from 3DS max(using PANDA), when i review my Mesh loader code ive seen this parameter on CreateMeshContainer function of ID3DXAllocateHierarchy "CONST D3DXEFFECTINSTANCE *pEffectInstances". can u guys show me some code on how to use an .fx file along with my .x mesh or this is just the same as that of the SDK sample "skinnedmesh" where the .fx file is loaded separately from the mesh file

I remember to read, that the new 3DMAX is able to use FX-Files directly. But dont know if a panda version exists or if this is able to export the used fx in the x-file.
