D3DXAssembleShaderFromFile problem

I'm trying to create a shader using D3DXAssembleShaderFromFile, but it just returns an error, I think there should be something wrong with the first LPD3DXBUFFER variable which holds the shader data... what about the file name? does it matter? what's going wrong here?

(1) Check the debug output. If you don't know what this is, or don't know how to enable this, read this section of the FAQ.

(2) Like you suggested, the ppErrorMsgs buffer will contain all of the compiling errors and warnings, in standard string format.

(3) Make sure your filename and path are correct. It can get tricky sometimes, so make sure you have the right one [smile]
