Hello! I'm developing an OpenGL interface for an engineering software. I want to draw 2D lines with mouse over a 3D drawing. My problem is that when the model is too big and rendering takes a long time the line follows cursor very slowly. Is there any method (layers or anything else) that can draw over an existing model without re-rendering it? Thx

If i am understanding correctly you could take your rendered model and dump it to a texture and then just draw one quad with the texture mapped to it.

I am sure someone will help out with the above as i havent done that before.
