ok I want to do printf("%.2f", float) but with a stream. this should be easy, but I can't get it to work. setprecison sets the total number of digits i.e.
float x = 123.456;

cout << setprecision(2) << x;

1.2e+002 // I want 123.45, goddamnit!!!!!!
is there a way to do this? I don't want to use printf unless there's no other choice (all of the rest of my code uses streams)

hmmm that worked. interesting. MSDN says that fixed is the default for floating point nums, that's why I didn't try it before.

oh well, thanks man!
