Is there anywhere I can get the DirectX 9.0 plugin for exporting Xfiles from 3DS Max 7 without downloading the full April2005 DirectX SDK? The microsoft website only allows downloading the full kit (i already have the december2004 SDK and am a bit reluctant to download it all again. I also think the April kit doesn't seem to support win 2000). Thanks

Hi

The SDK doesn't have the plugin you are looking for, I believe. You must make your own plugin if you want to create an .X file exporter.

Thanks for the response,
The microsoft website says that the new april edition of the directX sdk has a plugin for 3DS max which is installed in SDK ROOT\Utilities\Bin\Plugins\Max\Max7
folder of the SDK installation. My Edition of the DirectX SDK is the december edition which doesn't seem to have this plugin.

Oke, sorry for giving false information, I have a quite old SDK and it was stated that there is only a plugin .x file exporter for versions Max4 and 5.
