All of a sudden this line...
HRESULT hr = CoCreateInstance(CLSID_FilterGraph, NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC_SERVER, IID_IGraphBuilder, (void **)&GraphBuilder);

Has started returning CO_E_NOTINITIALIZED. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Mark Coleman

Ok so apparently this means that CoInitialize has not been called. Although it has been called and previous calls to the same line have been accepted without any problem...

Any help is appreciated.

Ok a further development... This only seems to happen if I remove a DirectShow graphbuilder object from the running object table like this...

void RemoveFromROT(void)
{
IRunningObjectTable *pirot=0;

if (SUCCEEDED(GetRunningObjectTable(0, &pirot)))
{
pirot->Revoke(dwROTReg);
pirot->Release();
}
}

Why does this cause COM to become unitialised?
