Snap object to mesh...

I'm trying to snap a whole series of little objects to a larger mesh, and was wondering if there's a way to automate the process in 3DS Max 6. Or at least speed it up with an "object snap" or something like the Maya equivillent. I can't find what I'm looking for in the docs. Thanks
