Hi, I've never worked with DirectX before, but when I get to the point of needing an API, then I think that's what I'll go with. I already got the SDK and ogled at what it can do, but I just had one question-- All of the tutorials say that Visual C++ is required for C++ programming with DX. Up to this point, I have been using Dev-C++, which, IMHO, rocks. I know that Microsoft especially are known to pimp out their own products to work on other products of theirs, but one of these times it could be true that it is exclusive. That would make me sad. Anyway, any clarification would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Thanks, just one real quick question. When it says, set the path to the dev-c++ bin folder, I don't have reimp. Is that normal for the latest version? If not, should I re-download it from another place? Or is it in the DirectX installation? I wouldn't think it would be, with the whole path thing. But maybe. Let me check that out.

Man, I hate command-line...

*EDIT* I reread the tutorial, it said the bin folder of the mingw32 folder, not the dev-cpp folder. I looked in there, but it wasn't there either...
