Fullscreen 32 bit lags miserably

Hi, I am trying to do fullscreen rendering in 32 bit(800x600x32) and I see considerable lag as opposed to 16 bit fullscreen rendering. Any idea what all I can check or do to make things faster ? I am pretty sure it shouldn't lag much I am using GeforceMX4000 card. Anything I can check, like values in the PIXELFORMATDESCRIPTOR or anything else ? Also just in case does anyone have a heavy 32 bit app which I can use to do some kind of benchmarking and see if they are getting better results. Thanks

twice as much data to shift for various things hence the slowdown,
u can do the normal things
use texture compression
use lower quality textures
disable dither
etc
